Mr Jennings was a handwriting teacher at my school who would dish out various punishments for misbehaviour such as the "numb bum" (a knee to the arse) or "sideburns" where he would lift you off the floor by them - strange bloke, he also gave you these punishments if you didn't support liverpool fc?! He used to call John Barnes "Black Magic"!!
