Had a useful double meaning. As well as its common sensical meaning, it also stood for 'crazy on old ladies'.

At Fulshaw C of E Primary in leafy Cheshire, we would all proclaim to be a cool dude, often generously allowing that our mate was 'the second coolest dude in the world'.
One day a new boy, Glyn, joined the school. He had a fuck off digital watch and a then-fashionable centre parting. We all agreed that Glyn was the coolest dude that day.
Conrad Olson, who prior had been doing pretty well in the cool dude stakes, informed us the next day that a dude was a camel's bum. Soon after the news reached us that 'cool' meant you raped old ladies (or, 'you mug old ladies and then you have sex with them' as we put it at the time). I guess this came from the crazy on old ladies acronym above.
Soon after everyone stopped being a cool dude and became a mega guy.
